This old gal is often forgotten about, so here's a recap.
The Savannahlander is a heritage railway service operating between Cairns and Forsayth in Far North Queensland from March to November inclusive. It is known for its scenic route through the Atherton Tablelands and into the Gulf country, offering passengers a unique (understatement) experience of the region's natural beauty and historical significance.
The train (road # 2028), runs on a combination of heavy and light gauge rail, showcasing the diverse landscapes and wildlife of the area, making it a popular tourism attraction for those looking to explore the Australian Outback...just take a cushion for your bottom, it'll come in very handy during day 4. This photo was taken on the return trip from Forsayth in August 2023, having experienced a wonderful trip and worth every penny.
