Turning back the clock with this one, former Cliffs Robe River Iron Associates (CRRIA) RSD-3 model ALCo locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1951 for NSWGR as the 40 class 4002.
It was purchased by CRRIA in 1971, but like turning back the clock sometimes, information and photos are hard to come by, so this story is on the short side.
This Atlas Alco RS-3 HO scale model locomotive was made by Kato in Japan, a company acclaimed for manufacturing detailed and very reliable models. This one is no exception! It was originally produced in a different livery but I've recently repainted and detailed it in the Cliffs Robe River Associates livery sporting the road number 4002. It has flywheel drive to all wheels, Kadee knuckle couplers, and is fitted with an ESU Loksound v5 sound decoder.
